Rest In Death
by @womban_kind
Hands up — if you have ever chosen against an outfit due to fear of being a victim to sexual objectification. Hands up — if you have ever avoided a street to avoid a group of men. Hands up — if you have ever bitten your tongue after a male colleague has made a subtle sexualised comment. Hands up — if you swallow sexism - in its many slight and obvious forms because you don’t want to come across as the “too sensitive / no fun / feminist - kill joy” woman. Hands up — if you brush off intuitive discomfort - because “he’s technically not done anything wrong” so to (fucking) speak. Hands up — if you have ever covered your face, to avoid unwanted male attention. Hands up — if you have hide your body in any way to remain “professional.” Hands up — if you have ever feared for your sexual and/or physical safety when alone. Hands up — if you have ever swallowed sexism / sexual harassment / sexual objectification / sexual misconduct / IMPLIED any of the above - because more harm will be done in the repercussions and dealings of the bruised and wounded male ego. Hands up — if you, as a Woman feel tired. Tired of the visible and invisible battles a woman must fight every single fucking day — against sexism, body shaming, beauty shaming, sexual abuse, sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual manipulation. Hands up — if you as a Woman, need REST. My Happily Ever After - ends in a grave yard; Where the patriarchy — itself and it’s offspring: patriarchal conditioning and patriarchal culture ARE ALL BURIED — deep. Where they will never sleep in peace — as I, and every (finally) free woman will be haunting their graves and shackling their memories, — to the mother fucking dust. . . . “Rest In Death” Let’s start it, Women. THE HANDS UP MOVEMENT 🙋🏾♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋♀️🙋🏿♀️ #handsupmovement — Written by @womban_kind for the Women in front of us, and the Women behind us; May we stand together. 🔥
